I am back online. My belly dancing teacher shared a video with me today that shed a new perspective on my relationship with social media for me.

What speaks out to me in this video is the idea of process vs a finished product. Garyvee mentioned how we often look at a finished product of successful people, and we don’t see the hard work behind it, and he said to not be too focused on creating an end product (the kind of perfect life that we wish to portray to the world) and instead, to focus on documenting our process of becoming.

This really struck me hard.

I have been on a hiatus from my Social Media (mainly Instagram) since two weeks ago because I was suffering from a burnt out. The idea of having to log on to my social media to post my daily motivational quotes and sharing a part of my life made me felt like a fake because I wasn’t ready to share with the world a part of me that I am not proud about.

I wanted to appear as the person who motivates others online, who encourages and inspire. In the last two weeks, I did not feel at all cheerful or inspiring.
