Today,

I start my journey of minimalism.

I will write and document my journey as I go along.

Last night, I started small by clearing out my make up drawer, the facial products that have been left on my shelves untouched for ages, and the 2014 expired medication that are still lying in my medicine box.

While throwing away my items, I can see how my mind justified myself from not doing so.

“Maybe one day you need this.”

“You may need this eyeshadow for that special function, and without this, you will not be able to look your best.” (Seriously? An eyeshadow colour will not define my beauty!)

“What if you have the flu and you need flu pills?” (How often, really, do I have a full blown flu?)

“What if you have loose stools?” (Again, really?)

Bit by bit as I challenged these thoughts while getting rid of these items, the voice inside my head got lesser.

It is a small step take, and I feel a lot lighter about it :)
