At the start of 2019, I was determined to write daily and post them publicly, be it through Medium or Instagram. I wanted to be a committed “writer” and also as an opportunity to get in touch with a creative part of myself daily. I explored writing fantasy, my musings and poetry. My WIP is a children’s book that I have yet to complete.

All these came to a halt sometime in March when I learnt the news that Pa was unwell. It was painful to write at that time and all creativity in me stopped flowing. Ideas ceased and no words could describe the immense grief that I was feeling. It’s been 9 months of a journey now and I have picked up writing again. In July, I committed myself to journal daily and that was something that I have religiously stuck to. I kept a series of my daily musings and journaling has helped tremendously in my healing.

Yesterday, I read through a bunch of my writings that I started earlier this year and was surprised at the content that I produced then. It may not mean anything to you but it means a lot to me. I witnessed a creative aspect of myself that I never knew I had unfolding. I cannot explain this feeling that keeps calling me back to write. By following this calling that makes no sense to me, words and ideas just flow. I judge myself harshly most of the time. Who wants to read what I write? How are my ideas important? Who am
