A Career Is Not A Passion

Sometimes, we go through multiple failures and explorations before we discover what our life’s work is. We commonly look outside onto a job and forget that perhaps for some of us, our life’s work is not something that pays us the chips. For a long time, I think that I am not fulfilling my passion if I am not making a career out of it. I was disappointed and resentful for a long time, and I lived on a constant search for a “better” place. Lately, I have a different approach on this, and I came to a peaceful agreement with my soul that I will not be able to live my passion as a career and that is ok.
My soul and I agree that even if I write only for 10 minutes a day, I will commit myself to a 9–5 job and to be great at it. The exchange is that I get to travel and get more inspiration for writing. It helps that I am also doing good enough to earn myself a living, to provide my parents with a good life and have the ease of mind to focus on writing after work. Striving to be a minimalist this year has also helped refine my choices. With less…
